Fraserview Care Lodge and Intellicare hosted the first, annual Care Fair on the beautiful summer evening of June 26th. Open to the community, the Care Fair is an evening full of health-related booths focusing on senior living, guest speakers, and a live demonstration of Fraserview’s Boomerang MIND content.

Displays included Mental Fitness, Transition Counselling, Nutrition, Technology, Fitness, Naturopathy, Adaptive Clothing, Music and Art Therapy.

The question and answer series featured Krista Frazee from the BC Alzheimer's Society who presented on Dementia Communication and Brain Health.  Brio Health Clinic's Dr. Carin Matsushita delivered in-depth information on natural remedies for Chronic Pain.  Fraserview Care Lodge Administrator Donna Baron and Family Counsellor Karyna Matsuk shared the Admissions Counselling program, a Fraserview-driven initiative for person-centred care. Keynote Dr. Sandra Cusack, author of Mental Fitness for Life opened up about her life and miraculous journey of recovery, following several strokes.

The event ended with a lovely reception and celebration with several Richmond dignitaries for the new kitchen ribbon cutting.
